Leben. Aage Bohr war der Sohn von Niels Bohr, den er noch als Student im Oktober 1943 ins Exil nach Amerika und England als Sekretär und Assistent begleitete. 1946 erhielt er sein Diplom in Kopenhagen. 1948 war er am Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton und danach bis 1950 an der Columbia University auf Einladung von Isidor Isaac Rabi, der die Hyperfeinstruktur des Deuteriums untersuchte.

Aage Bohr was born in Copenhagen on June 19, 1922, as the fourth son of Magrethe and Niels Bohr. High expectations were placed upon Aage as the son of Niels Bohr, which he fully lived up to. His physics studies were abruptly interrupted in 1943 when the family had to flee from the German-occupied Denmark.
