Para dirigir o estúdio chamou Charles Vidor, o húngaro que dirigira “Gilda” e que antes da II Grande Guerra também dirigira Glenn Ford (ao lado de Randolph Scott) em “Império da Desordem” (The Desperadoes), western de 1943.
