The Wild Bunch is een Amerikaanse western uit 1969 van Sam Peckinpah met in de hoofdrollen William Holden, Ernest Borgnine en Warren Oates. The Wild Bunch was revolutionair vanwege het hypermoderne camerawerk en de razendsnelle montage : in de twee uur dat de film duurt worden bijna 4500 cuts gemaakt, een ongekend hoog tempo voor die tijd.
There are no ‘good guys’ in The Wild Bunch, only bad guys and worse guys. The titular bunch are thieves and killers, but at least they won’t rob a dead man – unlike the posse of bounty hunters, led by Deke Thornton (Robert Ryan), sent by the railroad company to bring the bunch in dead or alive.
