While the common sandpiper breeds next to the gravel banks of the rivers Enns and Johnsbach, the pretty feathered pink, an endemite of the northern Limestone Alps, grows on the slopes of the harsh and unapproachable mountains.

Using materials collected by them the film tells the story of the Roaring mountains from a time when few dared to enter there to the present moment.
The Hochtor mountain at (2,369 m) is the tallest amongst the mountains in Gesause. Gesause Valley. The Gesause Valley is a region of the Ennstal Alps where the Enns River has carved through the massive limestone mountains creating a gorge and valley that are nestled amongst the massive giants of the Alps.
