  1. About Us. Partners for Peace has two important goals: Partners for Peace was formed from the collaborative merger of Spruce Run and Womancare on October 1, 2013. Spruce Run was the first domestic violence project in Maine and just the third in the country when we incorporated in 1973. Womancare was incorporated in the State of Maine in 1979.

  2. Partners For Peace delivers family prevention / intervention class series to parents/caregivers and youth. P4P also provides mentoring programs in Salinas and Soledad for 11-14 year old boys and girls. Building strong families for a peaceful community. Catch a word from our Executive Director, Vicki Law.

  3. Strengthening Families Program. 10 sessions, once a week. For parents and youth 10-17 years of age. Families build communication and problem-solving skills and receive tools to enhance youth peer resistance skill, school success and parenting/caregiver skills. Registration closes on the third session of each class series.

    That’s why our advocates—Partners for Peace helpline workers who understand both domestic abuse and how the many systems work—are available to offer support and information about the legal and social service systems, TANF/ASPIRE, Child Protective Services, and many others.

  6. With that thought in mind, Partners for Peace began our Library Campaign in 2003. That year during Domestic Violence Awareness Month we donated books and materials about abuse to every library in Penobscot County. A year later, the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence picked up the initiative and it became a statewide effort.

  7. Partners for Peace is a 24-hour, dependable resource to more than 1,400 people affected by domestic abuse each year. In 2019, advocates spent over 9,000 hours helping survivors find housing, navigate the criminal and civil justice systems, and plan for their safety and that of their children. Our necessity in the community is clear.
