The cast is perfect. this is my favorite Poirot adaptation. Guy Hamilton, pinnacle of James Bond directors, brings an eye for details and sense of play to this, allowing all the character actors to ham it up full tilt. Maggie Smith’s big red earrings should have gotten top billing.
