Fricker was born on February 17, 1945, in Dublin, Ireland. She began her career in theater in the 1960s, performing in a variety of productions across Ireland and England. In 1974, she made her screen debut in the film "A Long Way Home," but it wasn't until her performance in the 1989 film "My Left Foot" that she gained widespread recognition.
