  1. Hello WGHS Families, A candidate for a teaching position asked our committee to identify a unique attribute of Webster Groves High School. My response is that our size allows many academic, athletic, or club options for students to pursue, yet small enough for a student to find a role in one or more of those settings.

  2. Webster Groves High School was originally named Hamsher High School after Frank Hamsher, school superintendent from 1917 to 1924. In 1966 the three-story wing was added to the rear of the building. In the same year, the Herbert Schooling Library was dedicated.

  3. Webster Groves High is a public high school located in Saint Louis, Missouri, serving 1,315 students in grades 9-12 and part of the highly-ranked Kirkwood R-Vii school district. Webster Groves High consistently ranks among the top high schools in Missouri, with students performing significantly better than the state average on End of Course (EOC) exams.

  4. On Wednesday, April 12th, Webster Groves High School recognized 11 members of their Class of 2023 for their commitments to continue their athletic careers next year at the collegiate level. Congratulations to these Statesmen on their accomplishments and best wishes for continued success after they leave WGHS.

  7. WGHS History. Webster Groves High School began as a general course offered to ninth graders in 1889. At the turn of the century, the high school occupied the first floor of the original Bristol School building; the elementary school occupied the second floor. Sarah Milligan was the first high school teacher.
