  2. Further to this Sixth Form Boarding offers the perfect transition between the school and Further or Higher Education. Many of our boarders are 7 day boarders, but we also offer 4 or 5 night boarding to pupils who live closer to Armagh. Such boarders would board, for example, from Sunday to Thursday nights or Monday to Thursday nights.

  3. The 1970s and 1980s were difficult as they played host to ‘the troubles’ and demographic decline in Armagh with pupil numbers in both day and boarding dropping considerably. A significant change in the character of the school came in 1986 with the merger of the Royal School and Armagh Girls’ High School, the town’s girls’ grammar school.

  6. Fees & Charges 2022 – 2023. Fees & Bursaries Payment Methods Fees are charged termly in advance, and extras are charged in arrears. Each invoice must be paid in full by the first day of term. Other methods for payment of fees by instalments are available; details can be obtained from the Finance Office.

  7. The Royal School Armagh was founded in 1608 by King James I and granted its Royal Charter by King Charles I in 1627. The school has a total enrolment of 735 pupils and has a close knit boarding community of approximately 90 boarders.
