  1. 11 de mar. de 2019 · The birth of The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute was the natural evolution of efforts that began in 1931 with the formation of the Group Theatre. Co-founded by Strasberg, Harold Clurman, and Cheryl Crawford, the Group was dedicated to creating socially conscious theater and formulating a cohesive system of training for the actor.

The teachings and legacy of Lee Strasberg’s Method are maintained by his widow, Anna Strasberg (Creative Director and Co-Founder), and his son, David Lee Strasberg (Creative Director and CEO at the Los Angeles campus).

Created by Lee Strasberg, our programs offer the professional and artistic tools for every actor to reach their maximum potential.

  4. The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles is a private institution and is approved for operation by the Bureau of Private Post-Secondary Education . Approval to operate means the institution is compliant with the minimum standards contained in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (as amended) and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations.

  5. CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS. Students in this program may study either Full-Time or Part-Time. The Full-Time Program is 12 weeks, with 22 hours per week of classes.This program includes 8 hours of Method Acting and 14 hours electives of the students choice, chosen from the available classes.

  6. THE METHOD. Lee Strasberg often described Method Acting as what all actors have always done whenever they acted well. What Lee Strasberg meant was not that The Method™ had always been around, but rather, The Method came into being as a way of giving an actor the means to achieve the type of results that had moved and captivated audiences across time.

His students represent the 50 years Lee Strasberg spent training actors—from the Group Theatre in 1931, through the Actors Studio and The Institute until 1981, and beyond through The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.
