Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon ( Londra, 4 agosto 1900 – Windsor, 30 marzo 2002 ), moglie di re Giorgio VI, fu regina consorte del Regno Unito dal 1936 al 1952, ultima regina consorte d' Irlanda e imperatrice consorte d' India. Era la madre della regina Elisabetta II e della principessa Margaret e la nonna del re Carlo III .
Kindheit und Jugend. Lady Elizabeth war das neunte von zehn Kindern von Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14.Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne (1855–1944) und seiner Ehefrau, Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck (1862–1938), die über weibliche Ahnenlinien vom englischen König Heinrich VII. aus dem Haus Tudor abstammte.

Era una discendente del re scozzese, Robert the Bruce.
