The Charge of the Light Brigade was first published in 1855 and tells the story of a battle during the Crimean War (1853-1855), in which a British cavalry unit, the “Light Brigade”, was ordered to charge against a Russian artillery unit. This order essentially sent approximately six hundred men to their possible deaths.
