About Charterhouse. Founded in 1611, Charterhouse is one of the UK’s leading independent boarding and day schools, providing an outstanding education for boys and girls aged 13 to 18. The School is set within an inspiring 250‑acre campus, conveniently located close to London and within 50 minutes of both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
From September 2024, the first intake of Charterhouse Lagos students will be joining us. The first places will be available for children in Years 1 – 6, with numbers gradually expanding over the following years as our school grows. Charterhouse School dates back to 1611 and has a rich history. The school moved to its current site in 1872, with buildings designed by Philip Charles Hardwick, famous for designing the Royal Albert Hall.
