  1. I wish he had written more novellas. I wish he had written a sequel to ‘The Steppe’. I would have loved to read that. I am glad that I finally read ‘The Steppe’. I want to read Chekhov’s other long stories now. ‘The Steppe’ is one of my favourites of the year and it is a story that I will be definitely reading again.
