The crystalline touch of Chick Coreas piano playing is well recorded here. The music is a bit esoteric though (no standards), espescially to the ears of a traditional jazz listener. But now that the maestro is gone, every gem counts.

10 de fev. de 2007 · This album with just Chick on acoustic piano and Steve Kujala on flute does just that. It is VERY mellow. This is how the harder fusion of the 70's got mutated into what it is today (Yellowjackets, Fourplay, etc.): smooth jazz. But, that doesn't mean that this is a bad album. I really don't think Chick Corea could do a bad album!

In 2001, the Chick Corea New Trio, with bassist Avishai Cohen and drummer Jeff Ballard, released the album Past, Present & Futures. The eleven-song album includes only one standard (Fats Waller's "Jitterbug Waltz").
