Edward Cromwell, 3rd Baron Cromwell, (c. 1559 – 27 April 1607), married firstly, Elizabeth Upton (died 1592/3), of Puslinch, Devon by whom he had a daughter, Elizabeth and secondly, Frances Rugge, (d. 1631) of Felmingham, Norfolk, by whom he had a son, Thomas Cromwell, 1st Earl of Ardglass and two daughters, Frances and Anne.

By his death on this day in 1551, Gregory Cromwell, Baron Cromwell, was a wealthy man, owning property in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Norfolk and South Wales. Following his death on 4th July 1551, Gregory’s widow, Elizabeth, married John Paulet, the future Marquess of Winchester.
Cromwell was several times appointed by the Privy Council to intervene in Norfolk affairs and quarrels. He acted as steward of North Elmham for his brother Henry, 2nd Baron Cromwell, and later for his nephew, Edward, 3rd Baron Cromwell, who was in debt. When Cromwell retired, he went to his lands near King’s Lynn, making his will on 17 Feb. 1610.
