Spencer Perceval (11 September 1795 – 16 September 1859) was a British Member of Parliament, the eldest son of Prime Minister Spencer Perceval and Jane Wilson. He was also one of the twelve apostles recognized by the movement associated with Edward Irving and known as the Catholic Apostolic Church .

22 de abr. de 2024 · Spencer Perceval was 49 years old when he died and to date, he is the only British Prime Minister to have been assassinated. His last words were, reportedly, “murder” or “oh my God.”. Parliament made generous provision to Jane Perceval, Spencer’s widow, and their children.
Notes. ^ The Perceval ministry coincided with the start of the Regency era, when George III was formally deemed unfit to reign while his son ruled in his stead as prince regent. It dissolved with the assassination of Perceval in May 1812—the first and only assassination of a British prime minister. ^ Arbuthnot served as Senior Secretary.
