Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o (pronunciado [ŋɡoɣe wa ðiɔŋɔ]; nascido James Ngugi; Kamiriithu, 5 de janeiro de 1938 [1]) é um escritor, professor universitário e dramaturgo queniano, que escreveu obras em língua inglesa e que posteriormente tem escrito em língua gĩkũyũ.

Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, currently Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine, was born in Kenya, in 1938 into a large peasant family.
