The modern study of logic is commonly dated to 1847, with the appearance of Boole’s Mathematical Analysis of Logic.This work established that Aristotle’s syllogistic logic can be translated into an algebraic calculus, whose symbols Boole interpreted as referring either to classes or to propositions.

George trabajó como maestro de escuela y desde el año 1849 a 1864, fue profesor de matemáticas en la Universidad de Queen en Cork, Irlanda. No sólo era un genio de las matemáticas, sino que también era un buen humanitario.

16 de mar. de 2022 · O pai de George Boole – John –, um sapateiro, adorava estudar matemática, literatura, astronomia e ciências no geral e procurou estimular no filho essa paixão pelo conhecimento. A capacidade de leitura do pai deve ser destacada, considerando que a alfabetização como processo universal aconteceu no século XX.
