31 de mar. de 2016 · William Cuthbert Faulkner (b. 1897–d. 1962) grew up in Oxford, Mississippi, where his great-grandfather William Clark Falkner ( sic ), a writer, Confederate colonel, and railroad founder, was a local legend. Although he was a high-school dropout, Faulkner, emulating his ancestor, voraciously read the classics and began to write poetry.
