Rudyard Kipling. Geboren am 30. Dezember 1865 als Sohn einer angloamerikanischen Familie in Bombay, gestorben am 18. Januar 1936 in London. Im Alter von zwei Jahren wurde er bereits nach England geschickt, dort erhielt er seine Ausbildung. Er kehrte 1882 nach Indien zurück und arbeitete dort als Journalist.
