Ivan Edward Sutherland (Hastings, 16 de maio de 1938) é um informático estadunidense. É um dos pioneiros da Internet. Desenvolveu o Head-Mounted-display, em 1968. Criou o Sketchpad, em 1963, uma aplicação gráfica inovadora.
Ivan Edward Sutherland (born May 16, 1938) is an American computer scientist and Internet pioneer, widely regarded as a pioneer of computer graphics. His early work in computer graphics as well as his teaching with David C. Evans in that subject at the University of Utah in the 1970s was pioneering in the field.

Dr. Sutherland and his wife Marly Roncken lead the research in Asynchronous Systems at Portland State University. Dr. Sutherland has written over 49 publications. He also holds 12 patents.
