18 de nov. de 2013 · Ulzana’s Raid still has relevance today. John Bloomfield wrote the column New York on Film for The New York Resident from 2002 to 2005. More recently he contributed a chapter on the films of Guy Maddin to the anthology Cinema Inferno (Scarecrow Press, 2010), and presented a paper on the Mexican films of Luis Buñuel at the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture Association Conference in 2012.
21 de jan. de 2020 · Ulzana's Raid has appeared in at least two different cuts on British TV in the last few years; the UK video release is different again; and - you guessed it - this US DVD release is yet another cut. This edition is one of the fullest (it is nearly seven minutes longer than the UK video, and contains several segments that I've not seen previously) but there are some interesting omissions.

28 de jun. de 2011 · Directed by the no-nonsense, highly-prolific Robert Aldrich, Ulzana’s Raid falls between The Dirty Dozen and The Longest Yard. Aldrich even used Richard Jaeckel as the tough sergeant, reprising his role from The Dirty Dozen. Aldrich made several other good Westerns: Apache, Vera Cruz (both with Burt Lancaster) and The Last Sunset.
