The dynamic between the three teen leads is excellent, directed with a steady hand by Diane Keaton. Norman Max Maxwell who has not done a lot of work this century plays Ormand Guthrie, the often drunk and violent step-father of Alice. He is indeed scary in the role. The film is a made-for-television film and has a PG13 feel to it.
