O documentário Audre Lorde - The Berlin Years 1984-1992 mostra o que foi, para a escritora, viver em Berlim e crescer com o movimento das mulheres afro-alemãs naquele período. Narrado pela própria Audre Lorde, o filme conta com a participação das mulheres com quem interagiu durante o período inicial do movimento.
The screening of AUDRE LORDE - THE BERLIN YEARS in Havanna on December 21 was a full success. There were about 50 persons present. The room is dedicated to the ballet dancer Alicia Alonso and is decorated with beautiful drawings and paintings of her. We gave a short introduction to the time period and the content.
2 de mar. de 2023 · Audre Lorde, the highly influential, award-winning African-American lesbian poet came to live in West-Berlin in the 80s and early '90s. She was the mentor and catalyst who helped ignite the Afro-German movement while she challenged white women to acknowledge and constructively use their privileges.
Audre Lorde often spent time in West Berlin between 1984 and 1992. Here she gave readings and lectures, called for a fight against racism and encouraged Black women to make their own history visible. To mark the renaming of a street after Audre Lorde, the FHXB Museum is showing the photo exhibition "Audre Lorde - The Berlin Years".
