20 de jun. de 2024 · Deerfield Academy is rigorous, but the teachers are supportive and caring. My child got into Exeter, Andover and Choate, as well, but chose Deerfield because of it's beautiful campus and because the community just seemed happier in general. She was challenged throughout her four years at DA, but loved every minute of it.
Deerfield Academy recommends that Day Student applicants reside within a 25-mile radius. This radius restriction does not apply to children of employees. An Applicant residing more than 25 miles from campus must apply as a Boarding Student.
For more than 40 percent of prospective families, applying to Deerfield Academy also means applying for financial aid. Our Financial Aid Office works with families throughout the application process and, for those who enroll, throughout their Deerfield Experience. We strive to make the process simple, streamlined, and completely confidential.
Deerfield Academy is an independent secondary school committed to high standards of scholarship, citizenship, and personal responsibility. Through a rigorous liberal arts curriculum, extensive co-curricular program, and supportive residential environment, Deerfield encourages each student to develop an inquisitive and creative mind, sound body, and strong moral character.
Classes at the Academy are small—eleven students is the average size—and are defined by the participation of every student. The goal of the Academy is not just academic excellence in the topic at hand, but the development of the intellectual capacity and desire to educate oneself in all topics.
Deerfield Academy is located in Western Massachusetts 30 miles north of Springfield and 5 miles south of Greenfield in “Historic Deerfield.” From the South Driving to the Academy from the south, take I-91 North to Massachusetts exit 35 (formerly 24) and turn right at the end of the exit ramp.
