Henricus Wriothesley, Tertius Comes Southampton , Baro Wriothesley de Titchfield, (natus die 6 Octobris 1573 in Cowdray House apud Midhurst, Sussex – mortuus est die 10 Novembris 1624 Bergis ad Zomam in Nederlandia) fuit clarus vir nobilis Anglicum, qui notus est quia unus conditorum coloniae Virginiae et Gulielmi Shakesperii patronus.
Er war der zweite und jüngste Sohn von Henry Wriothesley, 3. Earl of Southampton (1573–1624) aus dessen Ehe mit Elizabeth Vernon (1572–1655), Tochter von John Vernon († 1592). Als sein älterer Bruder James am 5. November 1624 kinderlos starb, erhielt er als Heir apparent seines Vaters den Höflichkeitstitel Lord Wriothesley.

Educated at the University of Cambridge and at Gray’s Inn, London, he was 17 years old when he was presented at court, where he was favoured by Queen Elizabeth I and befriended by Robert Devereux , 2nd earl of Essex.

Lord Wriothesley was born at Little Shelford in Cambridgeshire on 10 March 1608 to Henry Wriothesley and his wife, Elizabeth Vernon. Educated at Eton and St John's College, Cambridge he became Earl of Southampton on the death of his father in November 1624. James, his older brother had predeceased his father by only a few days.
