Access Courses are for students who are 21+ who wish to go to university but do not have a relevant Level 3 qualification. Access to health professions can lead to careers in all branches of the health profession including nursing (child, adult and mental health), speech and language therapy, midwifery through to occupational therapy, social care and paramedic practice.
She joined Tower Hamlets College, from LSEC, working in various curriculum areas and eventually co-leading the Quality team. Alison became Principal at Tower Hamlets in August 2016 and added Hackney to her responsibilities in January of 2019. Within the Group she has responsibility for a significant range of curriculum areas.

On August 1 2016, Tower Hamlets College merged with Hackney Community College to create New City College. Redbridge College joined the group in April 2017. In August 2018, the group merged with Epping Forest College. New City College has 20,000 students, 800 staff and a turnover of close to £70m a year.
