Applications are invited from current graduate students and those holding postdoctoral appointments within the University. The Deans will work as part of the Welfare and Decanal Team.

Formal Hall, a formal three-course meal, is served at 7.15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and at 7.30pm on Sunday and Wednesday. As it is a formal meal, in the tradition of Oxford colleges, members of Oriel are required to wear jacket and tie or equivalent and gowns (guests do not wear gowns).

Oriel College has beautiful historic buildings dating from the 14th to the 21st Century. Oriel attaches great importance to the academic and social integration of graduates into the life of the college. There are regular symposia, organised by the Middle Common Room (MCR), where graduate students can present and discuss their research.
The College is generally open for visitors between 2pm and 4pm (or dusk, whichever is earlier) each day, except in Trinity (Summer) Term, when College is not open to visitors. Trinity Term runs from around mid-April to the end of June. Price of admission: It is possible to visit as a group, although there is a maximum limit of 12 people per group.
