Richard Grey, 3rd Earl of Kent (1481–1524). Grey secondly married Catherine (died 1506), daughter of William Herbert, 1st Earl of Pembroke and Anne Devereux. Born on 8 September 1372, [1] Thomas Holland was the eldest son and heir of Thomas Holland, 2nd Earl of Kent (1350–1397), and Alice FitzAlan, daughter of Richard FitzAlan, 3rd Earl of Arundel. His father was a maternal half-brother of King Richard II, and the younger Thomas had two brothers and six sisters. [2]

11 de set. de 2023 · Edmund Grey, 1st Earl of Kent was born on 26 October 1416.2 He was the son of Sir John Grey and Lady Constance de Holand.2 He married Lady Catherine Percy, daughter of Henry de Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland and Lady Eleanor de Neville, before January 1458/59.2 He died on 22 May 1490 at age 73.2

John's father was executed for treason on 19 March 1330 by the orders of Roger Mortimer, 1st Earl of March just three weeks before his birth, leaving his elder brother Edmund as the Earl of Kent. Upon Edmund's death in October 1331, John succeeded to the title as an infant. His heir throughout his life was his elder sister, Joan. [2]

Joan of Kent was the daughter of Prince Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent and his wife Margaret Wake; wife of the Black Prince and mother to King Richard II. She is unusual in that on the death of her brother, the 3rd Earl of Kent and 4th Baron Wake, Joan inherited the titles in her own right.
