The Metropolitan Library System has provided library services to the Choctaw community since the 1970s when, like in several smaller communities, the community hosted a bookmobile. In 1978, the library moved into a room at the Tri-City Youth and Family Center. In 1985, the library moved to a larger space in the Center.
