Há 2 dias · In 1401 Blount held a court and land at Hellelane (an early spelling of Highlands) for a nominal rent of 1d. each; Groveslond was still held by John Chiltern. Thomas was succeeded by his son John Blount, the last member of the family, who was described as lord of Rotherfield Peppard (presumably meaning Kents) in 1412.
21 de mai. de 2024 · On John Blount's death in 1358 the manor reverted to Henry's son and heir Henry, Duke of Lancaster, who died seised of it in 1361 leaving as his heirs his two daughters Maud and Blanche. (fn. 142) Rodley manor was assigned to Maud, (fn. 143) and after her death in 1362 it passed to Blanche and her husband John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster.

Há 5 dias · Blount evidently surrendered the lease in 1546, when the park was in the hands of the new lord of the manor, Sir William Paget. In 1549 it was let to John Tailor (d. 1568). (fn. 6a) Soon after the Paget family regained Burton manor in 1597, the park was evidently let to a Mr. Rodway, and Stephen Rodway, possibly the same man or his son, was living there in 1627.

Sir John died in 1485, leaving William Blount his son and heir. This half of the manor loses its identity at this time and was probably acquired by the owners of the Warwick half. Blount.
