Ludwig II (Ludwig Otto Friedrich Wilhelm; 25 August 1845 – 13 June 1886), [1] also called the Swan King or the Fairy Tale King ( der Märchenkönig ), was King of Bavaria from 1864 until his death in 1886. He also held the titles of Count Palatine of the Rhine, Duke of Bavaria, Duke of Franconia, and Duke in Swabia. [2]
Prince Eugen of Bavaria (16 July 1925 in Munich [3] – 1 January 1997 in Grasse ), married Countess Helene of Khevenhüller -Metsch (4 April 1921 in Vienna – 25 December 2017 in Bad Hindelang ), daughter of Count Franz of Khevenhüller-Metsch and Princess Anna of Fürstenberg. They have no issue.
Prince Rudolf Friedrich Rupprecht of Bavaria (30 May 1909 – 26 June 1912); died of diabetes. His second wife was Princess Antonia of Luxembourg (7 October 1899 – 31 July 1954), daughter of William IV, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, married on 7 April 1921 in Lenggries. They had six children.

Early life. Alfons was born in Munich, Bavaria. He was the second son of Prince Adalbert of Bavaria and his wife Infanta Amalia of Spain . In 1880, as so many young men of his age, Alfons joined the army, soon after becoming a young courtier protege to Ludwig II of Bavaria, and in 1892 became commander of the Bavarian Schweren-Reiter-Regiment.
Ludovika married Maximilian Joseph, Duke in Bavaria, whose father Duke Pius August in Bavaria was her cousin, on 9 September 1828 in Tegernsee. Ludovika was always frustrated that, unlike her elder sisters who married kings and Austrian archdukes, she would not be marrying someone with a grand title, but rather a peculiar and childish duke who had a fondness for circuses.
In December 1911, Georg became engaged to Archduchess Isabella of Austria (b. 17 November 1888 in Pressburg), daughter of Archduke Friedrich, Duke of Teschen, and his wife, Princess Isabella of Croy. The wedding took place on 10 February 1912, in the Mariä Vermählung (Marriage of the Virgin Mary) Chapel in the Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna , officiated by Cardinal Franz Nagl .
