William Dawbney Nordhaus (31 de maio de 1941, Albuquerque, Novo México) é um professor universitário estadunidense da Cátedra Sterling de Economia na Universidade Yale.
William Dawbney Nordhaus (born May 31, 1941) is an American economist. He was a Sterling Professor of Economics at Yale University, best known for his work in economic modeling and climate change, and a co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences.
William Nordhaus was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has been on the faculty of Yale University since 1967, has been Professor of Economics since 1973, and is also a Professor at the Yale School of the Environment.

Robert J. Nordhaus had joined the Tenth Mountain Division, troops on skis, and fought in the Italian campaign in World War II. When he returned to practice law in Albuquerque, he decided he needed to develop a ski area called La Madera (“the timber”) on the Sandia Mountains east of Albuquerque.
