Sir Thomas Picton was a British military officer who lived from 1758 to 1815. He was born in Wales and served in various military campaigns throughout his career. Picton is best known for his role in the Napoleonic Wars , particularly his involvement in the Peninsular War in Spain and Portugal.
Sir Thomas Picton (1758-1815) was born in Pembrokeshire in Wales. He joined the army at 13, but was put on half‐pay in 1783 and spent over a decade in relative obscurity.
