24 de mai. de 2024 · Maiden Castle was home to a Neolithic settlement long before the Iron Age earthworks were constructed. Archaeologists have uncovered evidence that Maiden Castle was occupied as early as 6,000 years ago. These first settlers built a causewayed enclosure on the eastern part of the hill's summit, defended by two banks and ditches.
