Lord Augustus FitzRoy (16 October 1716 – 24 May 1741) was a British officer of the Royal Navy. He served during the War of the Austrian Succession, and was involved in the capture of the Spanish ship of the line, Princesa, a major prize in the war. Augustus Henry Fitzroy was the great-great grandson of Charles II, to whom he bore a certain physical resemblance, and of one of his more long-term mistresses, Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland. Born on 28 September 1735, he was the elder surviving son of Lord Augustus Fitzroy and of Elizabeth Cosby, daughter of Colonel Cosby, a former governor of New York.
