12 de mai. de 2023 · Weiss-Wendt names his book after a 1948 screed published by the Sovinformbureau, Falsifiers of History (1948). He does this to emphasize continuities. The publication was edited and partially re-written by Stalin himself; at the outset of the Cold War, it countered US documentation about the Nazi-Soviet Pact, in essence distorting the historical record in the name of anti-falsification.
