D. followed in the footsteps of their father, the Rev. Martin Luther King Sr.; both MLK and A. After the death of A. D. Williams in 1931, King, Sr., succeeded his father-in-law as pastor of Ebenezer.
Naomi Ruth Barber King, widow of AD King committed to bringing to the limelight the contributions and legacy of her late husband Dr. Rev. Alfred Daniel Williams King. Dr. Rev. Babs Olusegun Onabanjo, one of the originators of the idea, was commissioned to develop and manage the project in January 2007.
