Richard Dale Jenkins (born May 4, 1947) is an American actor. He is well known for his portrayal of deceased patriarch Nathaniel Fisher on the HBO funeral drama series Six Feet Under (2001–2005). He began his career in theater at the Trinity Repertory Company and made his film debut in 1974.
Bio. A member of Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild, Richard is a professional film and stage actor who has been acting professionally since 1966. He was Director of Theatre for several years at Morningside College. Richard has been a guest master acting teacher at colleges and universities across the country.
Richard Edward Jennings was born in Hampstead, London, on 20 May 1921, son of Richard J. Jennings and his wife Bertha H., née Ovenden. He won a free scholarship to the Central School of Arts in 1937, but his studies were interrupted by the outbreak of the Second World War.
