Owain Glyndŵr (also known as Owain Glyn Dŵr and Owen Glendower), (c. 1355 – c. 1415) [1] was the last person born in Wales to be Prince of Wales. He was prince between 1401 and 1416. He started the Welsh Revolt against Henry IV of England 's rule of Wales.

In 1400-01, Owain Glyndŵr embarked on a course that would lead to one of the most dramatic periods in Welsh history. An argument about common land with Baron Reginald de Gray of Ruthin; who enjoyed the favour of the English Crown, came to a head when Owain took matters into his own hands and attacked Ruthin.
Owain lived a good life in Sycharth with his family. We know this because of a poem written by Iolo Goch which praised both Owain and Marred. Glyndŵr’s life was soon to change, though, mainly because of his English neighbours - and especia lly Reginald Grey, the lord of Ruthin.
