Hon. Thomas Charles Lumley-Saunderson. 1758-82. Born on 3 May 1758, he was the third of seven sons of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, the 4th Earl of Scarborough, and of his wife, Barbara Savile. Captain Lumley lost his life at the Battle of Trincomale in 1782. Lumley was commissioned lieutenant on 3 July 1778 and promoted commander on 25 July 1780.
