Dinah Washington had a voice and could make a song her own. She had over-whelming talent and she knew it. This CD captures the Dinah Washington talent and soulful flair through songs such as "Embraceable You," " I'Ll Clos eMy Eyes."
Washington had a hit on her own with a silky and very smooth version of "What a Difference a Day Makes" in 1960. She jumped to Roulette in the early '60s and recorded pop songs, three of which are included here. Washington was an unforgettable singer and The Definitive Dinah Washington shows just why that is so. Highly recommended.

Unforgettable is Dinah Washington’s version of the Nat Cole hit, it is very well done but of course everyone doing this song is always compared to Nat’s definitive version. This Bitter Earth is a Clyde Otis song, which I had not heard before, but I am glad to be aquainted with.
