Dimmu Borgir est un groupe de black metal symphonique norvégien, originaire d'Oslo. Formé en 1993 , le groupe tire son nom d'une formation volcanique observée en Islande , à Dimmuborgir . Le groupe a subi de nombreux changements au niveau de ses membres, le guitariste Silenoz et le chanteur Shagrath restant les deux seuls membres fondateurs à l'heure actuelle.
