Heathfield School for Girls, a fee-paying school in Beaulieu Drive, in Pinner said every student passed every exam and that more than half of the pupils obtained seven or more GCSEs with A* and A grades.

There were then only thirty pupils but, over the years, pupil numbers increased and the house was progressively extended. But, in 1982, it became obvious that larger premises were required.
