Research at all Levels. The School of Communication supports inquiry, projects, and research about the ways that humans communicate. Scientific, social scientific, and creative approaches guide faculty and students to seek deeper understandings of communication and the human condition.
High School Programs. Each summer the School of Communication’s National High School Institute (also known as the Cherub program) draws high-achieving high school students to Northwestern’s renowned precollege programs in theatre, film, and debate.
SoC students have the option of pursuing one or more modules in the School of Communication. Some modules may be open to non-SoC students as well. A curricular initiative unique to SoC, modules are highly focused programs of study that include related coursework, co-curriculars and pre-professional experiences, and culminate in the creation of a capstone project.
