In the village are a number of 17th-century thatched houses, on one of which, south-west of the church, is a tablet inscribed 'Ano. Dom. 1639, t.h., a.h.'.

Brixworth is the head of a rural district and in 1931 had a population of 1,173.
Weston Favell is a large parish, covering an area of nearly 2,000 acres and, since 1900, including part of the parish of Abington. Owing to the expansion of Northampton the population of the ecclesiastical parish had risen to 1,094 in 1931. Much of the land consists of permanent pasture, but cereals and beans are grown.
