The abbreviations are sometimes still used in note taking and text writing. Eight states are never abbreviated in text though; Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Ohio, Texas and Utah. It’s easy to remember that rule. States with five or fewer letters, plus Alaska and Hawaii, are never abbreviated.

24 de jan. de 2024 · Step 1: Preparing Your Data. Start with Your State List: Ensure your list of the 50 US States is in cells A1 to A51, with the header in A1. Activate the Geography Data Type: Click on cell A2, drag down to A51 to highlight all the state names. Go to the “ Data ” tab on the ribbon and click “ Geography ” in the “ Data Types ” group.
