27 de fev. de 2024 · 2nd Grade: review initial and final blends, teach 3-letter blends, teach remaining digraph blends The nice thing about teaching blends is that even when you’ve moved on to other spelling patterns (i.e. long vowel sounds) and more complex words, it’s pretty easy to have students keep practicing blends.
23 de abr. de 2024 · Phoneme grapheme mapping and segmenting are two of the best activities for teaching digraphs and blends. By sounding out the word and associating each sound with a grapheme, students more easily read and spell consonant digraphs and blends. See below for an example of this activity using my Word Mapping Template.
Blends (Phonics on the Web) When two or more letters appear together and you hear each sound that each consonant would normally make, the combination is called a blend. For instance, the word blend has two consonant blends: bl, for which you hear the sounds for both b and l, and nd, for which you hear the sounds for both n and d.
