28 de fev. de 2017 · Henry Grey, duke of Suffolk – father of Lady Jane Grey. Posted on February 28, 2017. Henry Grey was the great grandson of Elizabeth Woodville by her first husband Sir John Grey of Goby – and incidentally it’s pronounced ‘Grooby’. He died at the second Battle of St Albans in February 1461 leaving Elizabeth a widow with two sons.
Henry Grey soon shifted his allegiance to the Earl of Warwick. He received favors at court and was created (1551) Duke of Suffolk through his wife’s claim. Lady Jane was stunned when her parents informed her that she was instead to marry Guildford Dudley, the youngest son of the Duke of Northumberland.
31 de mar. de 2020 · The land and buildings were apparently given to Henry Grey, Duke of Suffolk by King Edward VI in January 1552. The nun’s chapel then became a parish church, and by 1706 the original church had fallen into disrepair and was rebuilt using brick material.

Henry Grey, I duque de Suffolk y III marqués de Dorset, (17 de enero de 1517 - 23 de febrero de 1554). Fue hijo de Thomas Grey, II marqués de Dorset y de Margaret Wotton, marquesa consorte de Dorset. A través de su padre era bisnieto de Isabel Woodville, la reina de Eduardo IV de Inglaterra, por su primer matrimonio con sir John Grey de Groby.
Henry Grey, marchese di Dorset e duca di Suffolk ( 17 gennaio 1517 – 23 febbraio 1554 ), era figlio di Thomas Grey, marchese di Dorset, e della seconda moglie Margaret Wotton. Fu il padre di Jane Grey, regina d'Inghilterra per pochi giorni. Alla morte del padre nel 1530 ereditò il titolo di Marchese di Dorset.
